Kuhrang County is in one of the western provinces of Iran: The Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province. Located between the Zagros mountains, the Kuhrang county is a popular tourist attraction because of its natural and historic attractions. To visit the county, you have to first go to the Isfahan province and from there to the city of Chelgard.
Here the nature stages one of her greatest dramas. The haunting, unique nature of Kuhrang is a heaven for any nature enthusiast. The county is one of the most significant tourist destinations due to its natural parks. But the most important reason for the area to become very popular is its fritillaries field. The field is situated near the city of Chelgard. The plain red hue of the flowers here fascinates any beholder.
As the first attraction on the way to Kuhrang county, Dimeh spring has earned a place in the national heritage’s list of Iran because of its pristine, clear water.
One of the nationally-recognized heritages of Iran, the field is not far from the Dimeh spring. But remember to see the fritillaries in full blossom you have to choose the right time. Generally, the season of this flower is from April to May, though the climate change may have an impact on it.
Do not miss the chance to have a visit to this waterfall, for this is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the whole province. The Sheikh Ali Khan waterfall is near a village with the same name. Cold winters of the region turned the water of the waterfall into huge and small, spectacular shapes of ice which is a must-see scene.
The home of one of the greatest seasonal waterfalls of Iran, the natural park is located in a city called Hafshejan. The abundance of water here creates a lush area. But apart from the verdant nature, you can also visit a historical treasure here: some significant inscriptions date back to Persian Constitutional period. The inscriptions are carved at the foot of Mt. Zagros.
The castle bears its name from the city where it is located and dates back to Qajar dynasty. The architecture of the Chaleshtar Castle is a combination of western and Persian style. The stone-made columns of the castle are gloriously spectacular.
Based on some narratives, the bridge originally belongs to Sassanid period, however, some believe it was built in Safavid dynasty. The two arcs of the bridge are constructed on three stone-made columns. The unique architectural style, the historical value and its location on the Zayandeh-rood river, together with the lush surrounded nature and the agreeable weather make the Zaman Khan bridge an alluring attraction for tourists.
