Located in Goad-E-Araban, Nasir-ol-molk is a famous mosque in Shiraz. it is in Lotf Ali Khan St. near the Shah Cheragh Mosque. locals call the mosque by many other names such as Kaleidoscope Mosque or the Rainbow mosque.
The mosque attracts many visitors in the morning, when you can find yourself among beautiful colors. Old, beautiful pink tiles and glasses, reflecting the sun light in colors, are the main reason to make Nasir-ol-molk a mesmerizing place. There is a lot of colorful mosques all around the world, such as blue Jerusalem or Istanbul mosque which is white but Pink is a special color and unique that is rare and unexpected among mosques.
The pink mosque was built under the order of Mirza Hasan Ali Nasir-ol-molk, who was a Lord in Qajar era at the end of the 19th century. The mosque was completed after 12 years. After numerous earthquakes, Nasir-ol-molk is still alive! Special structure and perfect architecture survived Nasir-ol-molk during disasters. Flexible wood as struts within the walls are used in the mosque building.
Between 9 AM to 11 AM is the best time to visit. Entrance price is around 150000 Rials. You can find colors through stained glass and it is the perfect time for photography. Go there as soon as you can, because tourist’s buses arrive around 9AM and the place gets packed. If you visit there at noon, without the doubt you’ll miss all the brilliance light dances. Windows designed to catch the light just in the morning, so after 11AM forget the Colorful show. Don’t miss photography with rose-pink floral tiles, you just find them in Nasir-ol-molk.
