Located in the Strait of Hormoz, Qeshm is the largest island in the Persian Gulf. The island, with the shape of a dolphin, is of significance in terms of ecotourism and geotourism. The Qeshm Area of the Persian Gulf Region forms part of the south and eastern extreme foreland of the Zagros geological and structural Province, part of which is a “UNESCO-recognised Qeshm Island Geopark.” On the southern coast of the island visit Naz islands, the low tides of which make it possible to walk to the three tiny islands; Explore the Harra sea forest, an 8,000-hectare biosphere reserve of mangroves, in search of dolphins; and watch the sky in the rocky shapes of the valley of the stars. Remember to shop in the numerous malls dotted around the center of the city.
