Where is Masuleh?

Located on the southwest side of Gilan province, Masuleh is a terraced village on hillsides of Talesh mountains. From Gilan province, go toward the city called Fuman to reach the Masuleh village. The village is situated about one thousand meters high from the sea. About 350 families live in Masouleh and there are four neighborhoods. Remember to ask your tour guide the meaning of the name of them as they are really interesting.

Why to visit Masuleh?

In the Masuleh village, houses are stacked on top of each other in a way that the roof of a house forms the pathway of another one. The most spectacular characteristic of the village is its traditional architecture. Most people earn money by selling artifacts or providing accommodations for tourists. Do not forget to taste the delicious cuisine and other edible products of the village.

Top Sights in Masuleh  

The first thing that attracts any visitor to this alluring village is the architecture of houses. Although the village is relatively small, there are plenty shops and stores. There are also a traditional bath (Hammam) and a caravanserai in the village which worth a visit.  

The geographical situation of the village provides scenery landscapes to watch. Getting up into the hills is quite a trekking here. There are also waterfalls and lush forests to adventure for those who are nature enthusiasts. If you travel here in the summer, you will see a lot of colorful vases on niche walls. The composition of ceramic vases with wooden, lattice windows and colorful glasses will completely detach you from grey, senseless of looks of large cities and make you relaxed and peaceful.

Practical information

Masuleh is an all-year round destination. In spring and summer, the climate is agreeably cool, and going to the lush counties and springs feel amazing. In autumn, on the other hand, the colorful fall with its red, orange and red colors will haunt you. The winter is low season. However, you can make the best out of your visit as the number of tourists decreases.

Wear your trekking shoes, bring an extra layer and just a small backpack. As you are going to see a lot of fascinating, Picture-postcard landscapes, so not forget your camera.
